SignalVault Independent Test Results
Independently tested at 13.56 MHz
SignalVault was tested by an independent, ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory: Qualtest, Inc. (now N.T.S.), Orlando, Florida. The testing was done at 13.56 MHz, the frequency used by contactless credit and debit cards.
Certificate of Conformance QR216-01, Certification Number 09207-100810, dated November 3, 2014.
What was tested
The laboratory tested two versions of the SignalVault card protector, V.1 and V.2, against a contactless RFID card reader.
How it was tested
- Reader check: the laboratory first confirmed the RFID reader read a test card normally.
- Behind test: the SignalVault was placed behind the test card, and the reader was used to scan it.
- In front test: the SignalVault was placed in front of the test card, and the reader was used to scan it.
- E-field creation: the laboratory checked that the SignalVault creates its protective field.
Results
All four steps passed for both versions, tested back to back, on November 1, 2014.
What this does and does not show
This test confirms the SignalVault blocked a reader from scanning a test card in this setup. It is not a guarantee against every kind of card fraud. RFID protection does not stop data breaches, phishing, or compromised payment terminals.
