PUBLIC SPEAKING & SAFETY SEMINARS

His Story

Chris Gilpin began his public speaking career as the Senior Consultant for the National Crime Stop Program, conducting workshops and training sessions for government employees, private corporations and organizations throughout the state of Florida.  His ability to educate with humor keeps audiences captivated and has been recognized by the Florida Department of Transportation, the American Cancer Society, HDR Engineering, Daytona State College and many more.

Chris got his A.A. degree from Daytona State College before transferring to the University of Central Florida in 2001.  He left UCF to start a trucking company that he successfully ran for two years before liquidating and joining the National Crime Stop Program.  He spent four years as their senior consultant before attending a security conference where he saw the crime of electronic pickpocketing demonstrated.  It was this that led to the idea and eventual prototype for the SignalVault Credit & Debit Protector.

Unfortunately, Chris had a great idea but no capital to get his idea off the ground.  Funding came from an unlikely source, a $1 Florida lottery ticket that had been hidden in his car for two months.  Mr. Gilpin thought he would need $8,000 to start his company and ended up winning $7,908.50 in the lottery - less than $100 short of the required startup funds!

After a very successful first yeat and the urging of his family and friends, Chris attended an open casting for ABC's Emmy Winning Shark Tank in Miami in January of 2015.  He was selected from over 30,000 applicants to pitch his idea and it resulted in him securing a deal with two Sharks - Lori Greiner and Robert Herjavec.  His episode aired on September 25, 2015 as the Season 7 Premiere with Ashton Kutcher as a guest shark and was one of the most watched episodes in the history of Shark Tank.
