The Skimmer Map Verification is for owners or managers of various locations that have had skimmers detected in the past. The Skimmer Map Verification updates the status of the location from "Unsecured/Unsafe" to "Secured/Safe" and confirms that security measures are in place to help prevent the installation of card skimmers.
The Skimmer Map Verification is valid for 12 months unless a new skimmer is found at the location.
FULL DETAILS
Skimmer Map allows users to easily search for "Safe" and "Unsafe" locations based on our safety criteria. By purchasing the Skimmer Map Verification, your location will be added or updated within 48 hours to a "Safe" location across all platforms.
Your purchase includes:
- 12 months "Safe/Secure" status listing in the Skimmer Map
- 15 "Skimmer Map Verified" stickers
After purchasing the Skimmer Map Verification, if your location has a skimming incident and/or is inspected and does not meet any of the above requirements, your verification will be revoked and your location will be changed to "Unsafe" in the Skimmer Map app. There will be no refund for the verification charges. All locations are listed as "Unsafe" until verification has been completed by an authorized agent.
GAS STATION REQUIREMENTS
- Location has not had a skimming incident in the previous three (3) months.
- Each gas pump at the location is inspected daily.
- Each pump is using some type of security measure as required by state law.
- The location has some type of video surveillance for the gas pumps.
- The location has a policy in place to immediately alert law enforcement if a skimming device is found.
BANK/ATM LOCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Location has not had a skimming incident in the previous three (3) months
- Each ATM at the location is inspected daily by an employee
- Each ATM has video surveillance on or directed at the machine
- The bank or ATM owner has a policy in place to immediately alert law enforcement if a skimming device is found
